EU-CHINA SUMMER SCHOOL 2014

The European Center of Economic and Financial Law (ECEFIL) of Panteion University, Athens, in collaboration with the Europa Institut (EI) of Saarland University, Germany, the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE), the Institute of International Relations (IIR) of Panteion University, and the Anargyrios and Korgialenios Foundation (AKSS), Spetses Island –Athens, Greece organize the 2014 Summer School on Spetses Island in Greece, with the topic "China and the EU as Partners - Law, Politics, Economics".
The "EU-China Summer School" is primarily an intensive interdisciplinary course in European Studies. It investigates the scope, achievements and challenges facing European integration, by taking a closer look on the structure, process and policy output of the European Union and the Euro zone. The course also examines EU-China relations and their impact on global governance.
In parallel to the aforementioned course, participants have the opportunity to learn about Greek history and the foundations of modern democracy, by means of presentations and visits to some of the most famous archeological sites. All in all, the course aims at broadening the participants’ horizons and perceptions of Europe - and sharing the living experience in a beautiful location on the island of Spetses, close to the Greek mainland.
The participants will be lodging in double occupancy rooms in the Ananrgyrios and Korgialenios Foundation premises in Spetses Island. The rooms are simple and clean. A study room with internet connection and wifi are also available in the College premises. Moreover, there are sporting grounds for basketball and football - and a beautiful beach with crystal water for swimming and water sports.
A certificate of succesful attendance by the EI and ECEFIL will be granted to participants who shall attend all the lectures and succesfully complete the course. Participants who will successfully pass a final exam will get a certificate of successful attendance, others will only get a certificate of participation.
If the home universities want to give the students credits for the summer school, the students may also have the chance to take an exam.
The fee of 1.900,00 euros (bank commission is not included) covers all necessary expenses during the participants stay in Greece and for the whole duration of the program (accommodation with full-board and teaching in the College, as well as excursions). Travel and visa expenses are not included.
